If you have defined a alt-tag for an image map it isnt display im M14.
What do you mean it isn't displayed?
IIRC ALT tags are not displayed as a tooltip in Mozilla like in NS/IE. 
Thats what <img title=""...  is used for.
ALT tags are only displayed instead of images, when no Images can be 
shown.
Marking INVALID, please reopen, if you mean something different or if I'm 
totally wrong.
