All the pages at <http://www.volkskrant.nl> (a Dutch newspaper) render incorrectly. The latest Firefox shows them as they should be, but Camino fails dramatically. Since I do not know html etc., I have no idea what could be wrong, it might just be a small thing with dramatic consequences.

Essentially what appears to be happening is that while Firefox puts the page nicely in two columns, the left one a bit broader than the right, as it contains the main contents of the page, Camino puts all content below each other, and uses vastly incorrect fonts. It looks a bit like the rendering of an old text-only browser that doesn't support tables...

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to <http://www.volkskrant.nl>
2. Voilà!
3. Optional: go to any other page on the site.




I just downloaded the latest version of Camino, so I'm up to date. I've checked my settings, but couldn't find anything that might be involved. Java and Javascript are enabled. In general, I haven't made much changes to the default settings Camino comes with.

Since this works in Firefox, if you spoof your user-agent string (in Camino) as Firefox, does that fix the problem?

Good catch, that does indeed change things. With the User Agent set to the latest Firefox ("Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8.0.3) Gecko/20060426 Firefox/1.5.0.3") the pages render correctly.

Guess I'll go and send an email to the webmaster at volkskrant.nl. Sorry to have bothered you all!

If someone is willing to investigate the issues raised in this bug to determine whether they still exist, *and* work with the site in question to fix any existing issues, please feel free to re-open and assign to yourself.
