Closed Bug 340847 Opened 19 years ago Closed 19 years ago

.webarchive files created using Safari2.0.3 are treated by Camino Version 2006052306 (1.0+) as links to be saved to disk - and not displayed like the saved web-pages that they are.

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8.1a2) Gecko/20060523 Camino/1.0+ Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; en-US; rv:1.8.1a2) Gecko/20060523 Camino/1.0+ When pages saved (to disk for offline viewing) using Safari ( for example, <PageName>.webarchive) are double-clicked in Finder after setting the 'Open using...' to 'Camino.app' , they are instead 'opened' within the Download window of Camino. They are NOT opened like simple html pages etc. Also, the preview in Finder for these pages becomes a blank white sheet-like icon instead of and indication that the file is associated with Camino (probably a separate bug ?) . Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open an html page using Safari. 2. Save the page to disk (as a .webarchive file) 3. click on the file created (in Finder) and press Command-Alt-I and set 'Open with:' to Camino.app (Its preview becomes an ignominous white blank sheet !! ) 4. Double-click the file in finder Actual Results: Camino's download window appears with the .webarchive file as a listed download. An identical copy is created in the download folder set in Camino's prefs. Expected Results: The .webarchive file should itself be opened in Camino in a fashion identical to simple htmls, etc The icon-preview became a meaningless white 'sheet' like a text file without any extension. Setting priority to 'Normal'. Please assess.

I believe this is a dupe of the webarchive implementation bug...

open using Safari and using Camino to see the difference in the way the file is handled.
