340935 - Can't find or display any webpage on MF 1.5.0.4 (after update or direct installation)

When firefox indicates me it has to restart to install the update after downloading it, the update installation begins, then hangs and doesn't finish.
When I directly install the 1.5.0.4 after uninstalling my preview version or overwriting it, Firefox doesn't work (it just can't display any webpage, but on the contrary keeps on displaying "recherche de l'hote du site" on the down of the page [I use the french version]). The actualization function isn't available.
In all cases (after directly installing the 1.5.0.4 [that I get from firefox's website] or after aborting the update process [since it can't finish properly]), it remains impossible for XP to close any firefox open process, wich is necessary in order to reinstall or uninstall firefox. To do so I have to reboot, and then uninstall or reinstall. Anyway, If I reinstall 1.5.0 version (that I got from telecharger.com website), all my personnal configuration is conserved and normally works.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Update from 1.5.0 to 1.5.0.4 or directly install the 1.5.0.4 version.
2. Try to use it...



My PC is Sony Vaio VGN-A617B. My OS Xindows XP familial edition with SP2, up to date. My internet service provider is free (France).
