I've just upgraded Mozilla suite to Sea Monkey and this problem started to occur. When I try to save file, it says could not be downloaded since source could not be read (there is no errors in JS Console for that action). Also I am unable to open DM window with error: Error: uncaught exception: [Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80570016 (NS_ERROR_XPC_GS_RETURNED_FAILURE) [nsIJSCID.getService]" nsresult: "0x80570016 (NS_ERROR_XPC_GS_RETURNED_FAILURE)" location: "JS frame :: chrome://communicator/content/tasksOverlay.js :: toDownloadManager :: line 51" data: no] When using Sea Monkey 1.0, I was able to solve problem by deleting compreg.dat file, but with 1.0.1 that didn't help :( I do not have steps to reproduce how to broke DM, it is broken "somehow". Can you open the URL "javascript:navigator.plugins.refresh(true);void(0)" and see if the bug still occours after that?
Well, sure. This hint solved problem. But all registered types are missing from save as menu... PS. May be such hint should be added to seamonkey release notes ?
Confirmed on Seamonkey 1.0.2. invoking the javascript URL or re-installing Seamonkey solves the problem (for a while).
