With very long reply-to: or from: fields, spam/scam emails, and emails with remote images show the usual overlayed buttons, but they are not visible (out of the header panel).
In the attached screenshot I'll show the problem with a partial shown button (in case of spam email) and another below where the buttons are not visible at all.
Reproducible: Always
This happens on trunk linux build under gtk2, with svg and canvas enabled.
Couldn't test other OSes and builds.

Seems trunk only as I can't reproduce the problem with 1.1a build under Win.

Correction: it happens also on 1.1a Win builds. Setting OS to ALL.
OS: Linux → All

Giacomo Magnini, do you not agree this is a dupe of bug 341483?

This is not a dupe: it's much wider than the duped bug is.
This is not just about Remote Content, but for every mail header overlay.

I didn't mean to mark this as a dupe, but to leave the decision up to you, so I'll reopen; however, I suspect this *is* a dupe, regardless of how much of the symptom reported here is also reported there.

Ok, just to show that the problem is much worse: once you click on a mail message which has an overlong field (problem seen with these very long fields: subject, from, reply-to), even the throbber goes out of the window, together with any overlay in the message header.
To have back the throbber and the rest, you have to click on another mail message which has "normal" length fields.

Sorry, didn't get this.

The problem is not a dupe: from the bugs you referenced, seems like the fixed problem was that tb (and mailnews, the bug was in common code) was not able to handle the show remote content URI. AFAIK the problem should have been that TB wasn't able to actually show the remote content once you clicked on the button.
Now, I'm talking about the overlays (or decks as they seem to be called now?) regarding spam, scam and remote content.
Btw, even when the buttons do show up correctly, they overwrite the border of the mail message panel (taking away the "embossed" style of the window).
Hope this will help understanding the problem.

One small note: the last screenshot was taken with a build from current trunk (as of 2 hours ago).

This email shows the problem for me with a 1024x768 resolution.
On a 3 pane mailnews window, the Scam/Spam button is out of reach, and the ? button is only shown partially.
