See upcoming testcase.

To reproduce the bug:
- Mousedown at the right part of the iframe, just before the scrollbar
- Now quickly move to the right without releasing the mouse
- Release the mouse while it is outside the iframe
- Now move again slowly from the right into the iframe
- Then move a bit from left to right and then back a few times
While moving the mouse you can see that the iframe follows your mouse movement.
This should be a relatively smooth movement, not a wobbly movement

I'm seeing this with Firefox1.5.0.4, but not with Mozilla1.7, so this is apparently an old regression.

Ria, could you find the regression range? I currently don't have my stock of old builds with me. Thanks!

I'm afraid we see different things.
In builds before about 10 Jan 2006 I see consistently the same behaviour: the iframe follows the mouse smoothly, like I had forgotten to unlock the dragging function in the mouse properties window.
In builds after 10 Jan 2006 the mouse moves quickly and nervously inside and outside the iframe (or rather the iframe moves) like it changes its mind 5 times per second. Sometimes the iframe moves so wildly that it disappears outside the viewport for good.
I can refine the regression date if you still need that. It is a very obvious change in behaviour.

Oh well, it seems like I was testing your other bug before I even saw it.

Regression date of the behaviour I describe above is 1.9a1_2006010905 - 1.9a1_2006010912 in any case.
Ok, thanks, Ria, the regression date of the behavior you describe would indicate bug 321098.

This seems to work on trunk, perhaps fixed by bug 339548/ bug 352093?
doesn't seem totally smooth to me using current trunk build.
however, I also don't know how wobbly it was 6 years ago :)
It seems smooth now, afaict. I don't remember how the situation was, either, I'm afraid.
