This bug was reported in #s 335831 and 338524. I'm creating this report because the other two do not provide enough information concerning when/where the bug occurs. Additionally, bug report 335831's status is RESOLVED (which is not the case, as I'll demonstrate) and a note in it states that it is a duplicate of 277701, which, as far as I can tell, it is not.

On some Web sites, the cursor/carat (flashing or stable vertical line in Windows 2000) displays an artifact at the top right of the cursor (see attached image -- I hope I can attach one after creating the report). This occurs wherever the cursor is placed -- in a form field or within the text of a page. When present, it complicates entering text because it looks like there's something there which isn't.

This occurs in very few Web sites that I've encountered. For example, this page does not show the artifact. Amazon.com does not show it. Wikipedia and Adobe Web sites do.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
It happens every time -- i.e., consistently -- on some, specific Web sites, see the following:

1. Go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Main_Page, click within text or a form field, artifact will appear.
2. Go to www.adobe.com, same as above.
Actual Results:
See above.

Expected Results:
See above.

Cursor should not show artifact.

My PC and Firefox are pretty standard. I only use two extensions for AdBlock Plus, DOM Inspector and Talkback.
Add Gmail to the other two sites showing the cursor problem (Adobe, Wikipedia).
Suggest dupe of bug 336259 or bug 288839.
This is a dupe. We're getting too bidi-happy.
