In the past, there was always some empty space on the tab bar into which one could drag & drop links and have them open in a new tab. In recent builds this is still possible if there are so few tabs that the tab bar is not completely full, or so many tabs that the tab bar overflows (in the latter case one can drop onto the scroll arrows). It isn't possible in the intermediate case where the tab bar is full but there are no scroll arrows.

Unsure if we'll block on this, but definitely needs to be considered for beta2. Marking uiwanted so I remember to look at it.

No clear UI here, ideally we'd hook up better dnd support to allow dragging to between tabs from off the tabstrip, but that seems like too late for now. Workaround could be to dnd to the new tab button, if you use the feature that much. Alternatively, pretty much everything in the UI that's a link/bookmark can be opened in a tab with modifier clicks, so there's other options.

I currently observe some inconsistent behavior WRT the border pixels of the tab bar. When you maximize the window and double-click at the right edge of the screen...
(1) with only a few tabs, a new tab opens (as expected)
(2) with enough tabs to fill the width, nothing happens
(3) with only one or two tabs less than required for toggling the scroll buttons, a new tab opens
(4) with the scroll buttons visible, nothing happens

Interestingly, link D&D seems to be possible in all four cases though.

Since in case (2) there's a 2px space at the left edge (and the first tab can't be activated through Fittsy clicking), there's no reason that same space couldn't exist for the right edge as well, making it slightly more obvious that links can still be dropped there.
