344416 - Firefox tabs will freeze when having multiple tabs open. Cannot select other tab pages.

Every once in awhile when I usually have multiple firefox browsers and multiple tabs open, firefox will freeze. The page that is currently open is functional, but cant select other tabs. I then must close all the firefox browser windows. Then also have to go to task manager and manully shutdown the firefox process. It keeps on running eventhough there are no firefox windows open. If i dont shutdown the process cannot open subsequent firefox windows.

Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
1. open several firefox windows and tabs
2. firefox will freeze after a random amount of time. There is no pattern.
3.

Actual Results:  
browser will freeze. cannot go to other urls or tabs.

Expected Results:  
browser doesnt freeze.

Im using a dell xps windows xp machine with 1gig of ram. Running apache,mysql,php,Zend Studio and ITunes.

In the short term, there's a fix for this. Open a new window. Then go back to the former window with all of the tabs. You should then be able to click and insert and start typing again.

probably my case is another bug, i have same bug with fresh version of firefox: 35.0 and several previous versions, (i know there is newer version, it is being downloaded now).

tabs freeze while menu continues to work.

freeze happens after several days of sitting in firefox with windows (8) sleeps.

i almost cannot test firefox so long time with all addons disabled, because i am muslim and i want to hide some images. (if i will run a fresh profile just to hang without work, i think it will probably work, and it will probably work (do not freeze) even with same addons installed, if it will just stay/hang/run doing nothing. i will say if i test it).

menu continues to work, it is possible to open a new window, and tabs work in it and pages can be opened and scrolled. but in the window with freezed tabs pages do not respond, not possible to scroll nor click.

when 2 windows are opened already, they both freeze, even if one has few tabs and was rarely used.

i have tested this with these addons turned off:
adblock plus
customizations for adblock plus
adblock plus element hiding helper
last tab close button
noscript

and these addons left turned on:
scrapbook
quickjava
downthemall

and the problem has repeated.

i have tested with chatzilla, downthemall, quickjava turned off, and same problem has occured. i only have not tried to turn off scrapbook.

before this bug occured this time, another problem has occured, and i had seen that in past, it may be related to this problem. problem: tabs work, pages scroll, as far as i remember, but clicking on links makes nothing, "server not found" do not appear, also opening a new link in a new tab do not make almost anything, just some little part like the url itself is redrawn, as much as i remember. at same time, also skype loses connection. then quitting and reentering windows session helps. a program with empty name and a standard program icon appears under "these programs do not allow to quit" header during quit.

then i have tried with scrapbook turned off. it become to happen rarer, but still happened. and other types of freeze also happened: total freeze of all elements, total freeze with blank pages, as i remember.

Yes, this sounds like my issue too, especially Dinar's added symptoms where other windows are fully functional, but the affected window has all "frozen" tabs & URL bar information.

I will try to open new bug, but just wanted to point out that I think this one never got fixed.

I then tested it without Scrapbook switched on. Even while it happened less frequently, it still did. ... other freezes, as I recall, included entire freezes with blank pages and total freezes of all elements .
