With a classic font (Bitstream Vera Sans) The width of the font seems to be miscalculated and different blocks cover each others. For example here, links on firefox start page cover the text around them or are larger that the area they should occupy (the underline does not go all the way to the end of the text). This does not happen on all sites (see the image of the wiki page below where the problem is not present). This is true for many fonts, not only Bitstream Sans.
This problem is fixed by using Lucida Grande as default font and forcing it (in prefs: Do NOT allow sites to use other fonts) but this leads to an incorrect display of accented characters though the encoding of the page is correctly specified and even matches the default encoding of Firefox (UTF-8).
Reproducible: Always

The first problem, at least, is a duplicate of bug 288047 (See e.g. bug 288047 comment 38).
If you can provide a testcase for the second problem, please report a separate bug on it.
