I use Azureus 2.4.0.2 under Gnome 2.16b1 on Gentoo Linux. The Download Actions preference for "BitTorrent seed file (.torrent, application/x-bittorrent)" shows no default application, even though Azureus is the default for application/x-bittorrent (and the only bittorrent client installed).
If I change the action to "Open them with this application", navigate to "azureus" as the application and in the open dialog check "Do this automatically for files like this from now on.", the open dialog continues to pop up for every torrent link I click on. It always shows "Open with" selected but no application displayed, and the "Do this automatically" checkbox is always checked. If I click on OK the torrent file opens in Azureus.
Reproducible: Always

From the mozillazine thread:
"
The torrent files are typically sent as Content-Disposition: attachment, which Firefox never opens automatically.
"
That would make this bug invalid.
