In the search bar, pressing Escape does nothing, but pressing Escape twice clears the field. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Click the address bar. 2. Press escape. 3. Observe selection. 4. Click the search bar. 5. Press escape. 6. In frustration, press escape again. 7. Observe annihilation. Actual Results: Selection and annihilation, respectively. Expected Results: Consistency.

Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.9a1) Gecko/20060809 Minefield/3.0a1 In Firefox 2.0 and trunk, hitting escape in the search bar does nothing at all. Not sure how this is handled on win32...

I filed bug 350079 for comment 1 separately since it's a minor functionality regression (since url and search would respond essentially identically to "esc esc type" before), but it probably would make sense to fix as suggested here rather than to the fx1.5 behavior
