Using an almost 2.0b1rc the manage search engines list is empty. It shows the following error in the error console when I show it:
Error: searchService.getDefaultEngines is not a function
Source File: chrome://browser/content/search/engineManager.js
Line: 202
And then on closing the dialog:
Error: [Exception... "Component returned failure code: 0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE) [nsIObserverService.removeObserver]" nsresult: "0x80004005 (NS_ERROR_FAILURE)" location: "JS frame :: chrome://browser/content/search/engineManager.js :: engineManager_onCancel :: line 69" data: no]
Source File: chrome://browser/content/search/engineManager.js
Line: 69
The buttons in the dialog are non-functional.
This was tested with a fresh profile.

So a totally fresh install (wipe install dir and profile) of what I think is the same build fixes this.
Like a muppet I didn't keep the previous install around to be able to figure out what was causing the problem here.
This could possibly be closed as WFM, I'm interested in experimenting on whether this was caused by software update or something.
Not reproducable with a clean install so not blocking I guess.

Did you ever get a chance to look into this further? WFM?

Yeah I tried some to get this to break again and never managed to find anything so I guess this was just an anomaly.
