Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9a1) Gecko/20060823 Calendar/0.3a2+
when you select task and click menu file -> edit selection to edit this task you get edit event dialog for last selected event
mayby it works properly, but if so does it make sense to name it "edit selection" instead of "edit event"?
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. create event
2. select this event, just press it to gain focus
3. create task
4. select task
5. from menu file choose "edit selection"
Actual Results:
edit event dialog shows up
Expected Results:
event task dialog shows up
if there is no event but one task exists "edit selection" is disabled so it looks like tasks are not taking into account
IMO this menu is useless - unifinder, main view and task pane is much more comfortable and it is much easier to get it directly instead of go to menu file and think which event is currently selected...

Works for me with Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9a1) Gecko/20061027 Calendar/0.4a1
Omar, I'd be interested to know what steps you used where this worked for you, because I can reproduce the problem.
Using Sunbird nightly build:Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9a1) Gecko/20061031 Calendar/0.4a1
With these steps:
1. Create an event on month or week view
2. Select the event you just created
3. Create a task
4. Select the task you just created.
5. Choose Edit->Edit Selection (or CTRL+E)
--Actual--
The Edit dialog pops up with the event pre-loaded for editing.
--Expected--
The Edit dialog should pop up with the task preloaded for editing since the task was the more recent selection made.
Confirming the bug.

Ok, what do mean by 'select task'?
1)If I select the task in calendar view and press CTRL+E task edit window opens
2)If I select the task in task list the event is still focused and event edit window opens

Works for me, and reproducible. It depends on 'Tasks in View.'
Yes, it's obvious that 'Edit Selection' does not take into account the task list.
The problem Damian complains about is the name of 'Edit Selection', I think.
