(Whiteboard: [server-side] BD received approval from SR)
The Swedish l10n team is seeking approval to use the news feed http://www.sr.se/xml_news/rss/nyheterRSS.xml from Sveriges Radio (SR) for the "Latest Headlines" bookmark.
SR is the public service radio broadcaster in Sweden, and they have agreed to let us use their feed.
Our contact at SR is Magnus Suneson, and his email address is "magnus dot suneson at sr dot se"

Is there a retionale for the change away from http://www.dn.se/rss_news, which we have on 1.5?
Dagens Nyheter (DN) is a newspaper whose editorial pages have a stated position of being "independent liberal". We think that it would be better to use a news service that is free of a stated political faith.
The reason we didn't used the SR feed in 1.5 was because they sometimes had line breaks in their feed items, and those would show up as black squares in the live bookmark in 1.5. But that bug seems to have been fixed in 2.0.

Mic, putting this on your radar, though we don't have perms or contact info yet.
Hasse, could you get SR to agree on being exposed? We'd need an informal statement, best on English, that they're willing to take the load and be exposed in the Firefox UI. We'd like to get some contact info, too, for future reference.
If we don't get that in time, we could either go with DN for now, or BBC. Hasse, you would want to flip the coin here for now.

Hi
in order to authorize the change we'd need some kind of confirmation as Axel indicates in comment #3 that they're ok to receive our traffic.
please advise if you have that
thanks
mic
We have, as I said in comment #0, received approval from SR to use their feed. Our contact at SR and his email address can also be found in comment #0. I thought you were going to use that contact info to verify with him that they are OK with this?
However, I will forward a copy of his last email to Mic together with an English translation.
Until this is resolved, DN:s feed is what we would like to use.

Right now, we have the 1.5 feed from dn.se up as redirect on our server side.
Mic, could you update this bug with the information you got? Then I'd update the wiki to get the sr.se redirect into the next flock of changes to the redirects.

Added to the wiki, bug should stay open until we have the redirects changed and tested.

Yes, it can. For a bug like this, you'd be perfectly fine to close it yourself, too.
