User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; pl; rv:1.8.0.6) Gecko/20060728 Firefox/1.5.0.6 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; pl; rv:1.8.0.6) Gecko/20060728 Firefox/1.5.0.6 I've just copied *BIG BLOCK* of text, then i started pasting all the time into the same TEXTAREA box. after 10-15 times (i dont' remember exactly) firefox crashed out :o Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. copy big block of text 2. paste into textarea box 3. do it again, and again, and again... Actual Results: i had seen microsoft message that program crashed out, and firefox disappear. Expected Results: show messagebox that text is too long or something.
Hm, I tried pasting my whole history.dat file (about 4 MB) in the text box and my computer reacted *very* slow with tens of seconds delay with so much data in its clipboard but no crash. Could you provide a Talkback ID for the crash? http://kb.mozillazine.org/Talkback

Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1b2) Gecko/20060821 Firefox/2.0b2 WFM. I pasted a large amount of text into a textarea and had no crashing as stated by the reporter.
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.7) Gecko/20060909 Firefox/1.5.0.7 I have been experiencing this for over a year. I have only experienced this on Neopets.com. Firefox does not crash so I have no Talkback ID, but Firefox will hang and stop responding altogether when I paste more than 80K (in my case, my neopets webpage content) into the textarea on their website.
This bug probably has a relationship to hardware; i.e. processor, RAM, etc. Obviously, a slower computer would foul up the operation of pasting large amounts of text. Info that might be helpful: 1. Amount of RAM when crash or freeze-up happens 2. A more exact amount of text entered when the crash happens.
Jacob, are you still seeing this?
