User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.10) Gecko/20050715 Firefox/1.0.6 SUSE/1.0.6-16 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.10) Gecko/20050715 Firefox/1.0.6 SUSE/1.0.6-16 I have tried over and over again to stop Firefox from auto updating. It keeps updating itself, and I have to reinstall the earlier version day after day. Please ask for permission to update. I feel this may be some backdoor used by the Bush regime. Reproducible: Always
Looks like SUSE is updating your firefox, and not FF updating itself, 1.0.X doesn't have AutoUpdate. INVALID in my opinion.
IF SuSE is updating, How is it that I'm able to restore the orginal version using YaST? I have all updates shut off in SuSE as far as I know.
What's the User-Agent/ Build id of the "updated" version. That should tell us where the update came from.
SuSE launches it as firefox %u. Perhaps that causes the problem. The update version is 1.5 something I didn't save the version because I don't want it because when I save as an image the file name is high lighted, and I don't like that. If I could stop that in the updated version then I wouldn't care so much unless it's Bush spying on me. Any suggestion on the problem of the highlighted file name in the image save as dialog?
This sounds like a problem with your distro's version of Firefox. If you can reproduce using official builds please reopen. (Also, 1.0.* is very very very old; you should consider using 1.5.0.* or even Firefox 2 beta 2.)
