As per bug 348741, Firefox now has a new EULA. This new EULA has yet to be uploaded to http://www.mozilla.com/legal/eula/. Is the EULA in attachment 233814 [details] considered the final version? If so, I can upload it to mozilla.com in both .txt and .html format if it is ok. Has the new EULA been localized yet for the localized versions on the page? The current page has localized versions of the old EULA. Does Thunderbird have a new EULA?
Don't upload this yet Reed -- it's for Firefox 2.
Paul, pretty sure we need to have both in place, since the older EULA applies to older versions. Not sure how to best present that...

Translated EULA's attached. I received only 8 from Catherine.

note that we should have two sections, the EULAs for Firefox 1.5 and the ones for Firefox 2

Comment on attachment 243288 [details] English EULA .html format > 'English' => "" Maybe "Firefox 2.0 English" or something, since we have multiple English EULAs. I'll let you decide the wording. >4. Second try, since the first one was borked ...

Similar fix for Simplified Mandarin ...
Attachment #243299 - Attachment is obsolete: true
Just to update ... - mook's signed off on the chinese saying that they're non-crufty - gen's doing a review and revision of the japanese - pkim's verified that the korean looks non-crufty - there are typos, because I am a bad person. the chinese should probably be listed in the breadcrumbs as just "Simplified Chinese" and "Traditional Chinese" instead of Mandarin. And definitely not "Simpilified". Cripes.
This is all available for your viewing pleasure (and review) here: https://www.stage.mozilla.com/en-US/legal/eula/
I see some issues. I'll try to fix tomorrow (today) when I can think.
Summary: Upload new EULA(s?) to mozilla.com → Upload new Firefox 2 EULAs to mozilla.com
There are more change requests hanging beneath bug 357710.
Depends on: 357710
chofmann is coordinating edits as they require another round of legal review and signoff. bias to get basic information up and place as a reference translation, with a follow-on round of edits as needed. (i.e. nothing should be changed from the originals without a a=cbeard or chofmann) we're also pulling together the list of requested translations in addition to this first batch.
(In reply to comment #34) > translation, with a follow-on round of edits as needed. (i.e. nothing should be > changed from the originals without a a=cbeard or chofmann) we're also pulling To be clear, I'm talking about any content changes. Links, formatting and styling do not require legal review.
talked with cbeard on this. lets push only en-us today, and give another week to accomodate the reviews and changes needed on the other localized versions. the rest can be pushed next week.
(In reply to comment #36) > talked with cbeard on this. lets push only en-us today, and give another week > to accomodate the reviews and changes needed on the other localized versions. > > the rest can be pushed next week. The main localized EULAs were not checked before Sherman uploaded them? ... or are you talking about the ones in bug 357710?

> The main localized EULAs were not checked before Sherman uploaded them? > ... or are you talking about the ones in bug 357710? yeah, not all the checks were completed. folks are working on reviews, typo corrections, and a few missed words that didn't get translated. we need a bit more time to sort the localized versions out.
Has there been any progress here on getting the non-English versions approved? Gerv
We need these for the upcoming major update -- when will the review/approval process for the non-English versions be complete?
Catherine Brady's finalizing translated EULAs for: Dutch French German Russian Swedish Italian Japanese Brazilian Portuguese Slovak She expects these to be final this week (January 15, 2007).
Final Dutch Fx 2.0 EULA.
Final German Fx 2.0 EULA.

Who is responsible for putting these on the web? Is there anything to stop that happening? Gerv
(In reply to comment #54) > Who is responsible for putting these on the web? Is there anything to stop that > happening? That would be me. I've just been very busy lately, but I'll try to get to this today or tomorrow.

So is this bug now fixed? Gerv
(In reply to comment #59) > So is this bug now fixed? I haven't pushed this to production yet, so it's not live, but anybody with an LDAP account can see it at https://www.trunk.stage.mozilla.com/en-US/legal/eula/. Note that I'm still missing locales. Are those the only ones I should care about? If so, I'll mark this bug fixed once I get it pushed live.
Well, pl (attachment 253600 [details]) is missing, so I'm not sure if this is fixed, Gerv. :) I don't know what else should I do to make it "final". Paul?
(In reply to comment #61) > Well, pl (attachment 253600 [details]) is missing, so I'm not sure if this is fixed, > Gerv. :) I didn't do it because legal had not signed off on it. If somebody from legal wants to sign off on it, I can do it.
I'll ask Catherine in Mozilla legal to review PL.
what about the French EULA?
(In reply to comment #64) > what about the French EULA? It's not in the files pkim posted. Check with marketing / legal?
I'm confused, according to comment #41 , fr EULA should have been reviewed too. Paul?
Too many cooks in this kitchen. :-) Catherine Brady on our legal team is going to update us on status of reviews, particularly French and Polish. I'll update the bug once I hear from her.
Update: Catherine hasn't received a revised French EULA back from our French legal counsel. She is following up. She is also checking on the status of Polish.
Some chars are corrupted in "Final Brasilian Portugese EULA .html format". "Final pt-BR EULA in .doc format" is fine. Note that not all special chars are corrupted, only some of them. e.g. você (doc) ==> vocę (html)
archaeopteryx: are you able to redo the export, preserving the characters? Gerv
Clearly not :-( Reed: can you fix the encoding problem? Catherine: any news on French and/or Polish? Gerv
Resolving INCOMPLETE, long gone and we don't have EULAs no more.
