Today I went to the bookmarks manager to create a keyword-bookmark for wikipedia.

I clicked the Action-menu, and chose "Create new bookmark".

The bookmark sheet popped up, that gave me the option to chooes a location and name of the bookmark. I expected the Bookmark Info dialog, so I could also fill in the location of the bookmark (who wants to bookmark "about:bookmarks"?)

So, I propose we simply change this to pop up a prefilled Bookmark Info dialog. Sounds reasonable?
This seems reasonable to me. It could be seen as an alternate way of solving bug 175748 (if it brings up the pre-filled palette, it's easy to empty out the url field) , and whatever gets done should get done with bug 175748 in mind.
Yeah, I think this sounds good to me, too. Two different UIs is a bit odd, but this does make sense for the in-the-manager case.
Isn't this really just the same as bug 175748? Really, users never create "blank" bookmarks, so that bug is about creating a way to specify what URL (or to, potentially, leave it blank). I say this should be duped...
Make sure Stuart doesn't object to the potential UI discrepancy of having two different UIs for creating bookmarks depending on whether you're in the manager or on a real page....

If we all agree this is the way to fix bug 175748, then we can dupe ;)
We should discuss this soon-ish with the important folks who have yet to comment on this bug.
