(excuse any oddities in this bug report, it's 3:26 in the morning)

Paste "feeffe" into one of the textboxes in the URL provided above many times, 
just hold down Ctrl+V.  Eventually the text disappears until you scroll left or 
right in the box, it's pretty strange.  Having trouble thinking right now, 
anyone know what the problem is?

By the way, the string you paste in and what textbox you paste it to can, of 
course, be whatever you want.  I just provided the above as an example.
The problem comes at 3638 characters, try copying this VV block of text (3637 
char) into something like keywords in query.cgi than adding one letter.

I noticed that the text starts appearing when you select it.

This bug is similar to bug 32334, a crasher.  It usually happens while you're 
reproducing bug 32334.

This problem, by the way, also occurs in the location (URL) bar.
This bug doesn't seem to be editor-specific.  I have an example html file (with 
no form elements) that doesn't render if there is long strings of text in it. 
I'll attach it.  Note, if you move the lines with all the 'd' characters to the 
bottom of the body, the page appears to layout properly.

This bug seems to be overlapping with bug 38652

This is supposed to deal with problems in textboxes with long strings; 38652 is 
problems with long strings in HTML files.
I think they are the same bug; probably also the same as #32334 but I'll leave 
that one as a dependency of this one and see if it goes away when this bug gets 
fixed.

please forget "paste" action; just look at the rendering of the attachment.  If 
you look at the source you'll see that you should see some numbers as well as 
some long strings of the following letters:  a, b, c, d

When I view this with today's build on Mac, I don't see any numbers or several of 
the letters.

I see this bug in the location bar when visiting an extremely long URL.  I can
reproduct it by visiting the URL, clicking in the location bar, then pressing
the END key.  It will look like the URL is just a bunch of blank spaces, but if
I select the text with the mouse or with SHIFT-ARROW it shows up.

relationship between them; we'll see whether the patch for that bug fixes this
one as well.

It seems my testcase (207659) no longer causes those breaks in the input as well
as view source.  I guess the amount of text mozilla can handle has increased.  I
like how the test 40391 testcase sucks up huge amounts of memory and brings my
entire system to a screeching halt though.  Anything we can do about that?  I'm
using Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.8) Gecko/20050511.
 Is this always going to be a bug albeit just a larger limitation on the maximum
amount of characters possible?

Test case #144997 displays white space (can select/copy/paste the text elsewhere but can't see it on the page or in the source) in both fields for me running Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8) Gecko/20051111 Firefox/1.5

Also, I have been able to reproduce this bug with a simple <textarea> box.  It breaks (text turns white instead of black in box and if you view source) with more than 4096 characters on a single line with no newlines.
