There have been excessive check-ins to en-US help, some of which haven't made it into the localization into simplified Chinese.

I'll attach patches that show the existing changes between the MOZILLA_1_8_0_BRANCH on both zh-CN and en-US to find out what's left to do.

Holy, to share our priorities here, and timeline:

The most prominent page we'd like to see would be prefs.xhtml, as that's linked from the preferences dialog and thus much more exposed.

The timeline looks like this: for RC1, the check-in window ends at 5pm PDT today, sept 19th.
We still hope to not have an RC2, but if we had, we'd likely not freeze that before a week later, as far as I can tell.
The next window would be for the first minor update.

If we can offer help to you, we'd like to hear. Though I understand that this help fix is likely the hardest thing to do without in-depth knowledge.

If you could, we'd like to know of your schedule, and which of those windows you think you could make.

Setting blocking-firefox2 to '-', we decided to not block the shipping of Firefox 2 on the prefs.xhtml page.

Holy, we're closing the tree in less than 8 hours. Do you have any update on this bug?

One alternative that I would have would be that we copy over the en-US help for 2.0, and land the translated version for the next minor release.

Attachment: patch of reverting zh-CN 1.5 help to en-US 2.0 help

This is the patch that I'll check in to port en-US 2.0 help to Simplified Chinese.
To get back the zh-CN help to start working on a translation for a minor update, you can either check out by date, or apply this patch with -R.

I tested the current zh-CN with my help-helper extension and found numerous broken links (broken as in, the ID is not found, so you may or may not find information when scrolling down the shown page). This data helps us in finding out if en-US help is really of more use than the current Chinese one, and we hope it is.

From the table of contents:
tabbed browsing, cookies, safebrowsing links, plus menu reference, a total of 16 links.
From the prefwindow:
main, feeds, security, advanced-network, advanced-encryption.

Holy, if you want, we can try to organize help for translating the help content for the next minor update, we'd really love to get that to our users for the next minor update. With the time we have until then, I hope that bringing in forces new to this can be of help, the little time we had here didn't suffice, IMHO.

Checked in, marking fixed1.8.1. We want that for 2.0.0.1, so putting that in the whiteboard.

I filed bug 360242 to replace the en-US version with a Chinese version again.

Removing the Fx 2.0.0.1 marker to leave this one closed and verified.
