Details
The IETF RFCs that define the string representation of X.500 (and LDAP) Distinguished Names keep evolving. NSS needs to keep up.
NSS started with RFC 1485, which has been superseded several times.
The order of succession is: RFC 1485, RFC 1779, RFC 2253, and now RFC 4514,
which cites RFC 4519 for the definitive list of Attribute Types, and
RFC 4523 for other PKI-related OIDs.
For NSS 3.12, we should plan to update nss/lib/certdb/alg1485.c and
related files, to conform to the newest RFCs.
