(Reporter: bryan.burman, Unassigned)
Details
User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1; .NET CLR 1.1.4322; .NET CLR 2.0.50727)
Build Identifier:
It would be nice to be able to report a bug as another user in the system without utilizing the impersonation feature.
The users in our company often like to email me the details of a bug without using the interface (they feel intimidated or are unwilling to change). Even without the users utilizing the system up front, we prefer to add ALL content to Bugzilla in order to encourage traceability in our software changes.
Currently, we add the user that actually reported the bug to the CC field and make a note of it in the initial comment field. It would seem more productive and less prone to error if we could just specify the reporter.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:

Actual Results:
n/a
Expected Results:
It would be nice if there was a simple drop-down box containing all users within the system labeled Reporter. This field would only be visible to administrators when a new bug is created.
I would still like to keep track of who entered the bug for traceability purposes. An Entered By field might also need to be displayed on the show_bug.cgi page.
My company uses an IT Help Desk package created by Doug Luxem that does something very similar. For an example of what I am talking about check out the Liberum Help Desk at the following URL:

I would rather mark this bug as a dupe of bug 243198.
