User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; chrome://navigator/locale/navigator.properties; rv:1.9a1) Gecko/20061003 Camino/1.2+
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC Mac OS X Mach-O; chrome://navigator/locale/navigator.properties; rv:1.9a1) Gecko/20061003 Camino/1.2+
Since the landing of Bug 332912, pasting any text (copied from in the app or externally, doesn't matter), inserts a 'zero width no-break space' character () at the beginning of the paste. I've only tested in Camino, since Mac minefield builds aren't being made at the moment.
This is mentioned in Bug 332912 comment 26 through 29, but it really belongs as a followup, so I'm filing it as such.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Make sure some text is in the clipboard
2. Focus any text field/area in the browser
3. Type a few letters
4. Paste
Actual Results:
If you left-arrow backwards, you'll see that there's an invisible character between the last of the characters you typed, and the first of the characters you've pasted.
Expected Results:
Shouldn't prepend anything.
This occurs starting with Version 2006100302 (1.2+) of Camino, and does not appear on 1.8 branch builds, which is why I presume it to be a regression of 332912.

Heh. Sorry about the number of those characters sprinkled throughout my bug report. Guess I don't realize how often I copy/paste.

It's adding the characters with content copied from outside Camino, in my case, copy/pasting the bug number from Mail into Bugzilla

fix v1.0
This doesn't byte-swap the string if the BOM indicates other-endian data. Did you test this with something copied under Rosetta pasting into a native x86 app, or vice-versa?
delliott tested text copy from a Cocoa Rosetta app into native Camino with the new clipboard and it worked fine.
