Firefox 2 does a very very good job of this already. It actually checks your extensions and asks you at startup to update them. Does this need to be updated for 2.0 (I actually removed the extension)?

yeah, marking this "invalid" for firefox 2 seems to make sense. the only thing that would it worth keeping on the list to track down is that it sits so high on the list of extensions actively used. (around #34th). we need a way to flag those kind of extensions so we can let users know they might not be required, or figure out why they still want them... I'll put "core support in fx2?" in the status whiteboard to flag those kind of extensions. Then we might be able to roll out some way to communicate the list of extensions that are like this.

Perhaps we could get the extension updated so that it uninstalls itself? I know that this is possible. If the author wants help with it, I can see what I can do, but it might be about a week.
