User-Agent: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 7.0; Windows NT 6.0; SLCC1; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; Media Center PC 5.0; .NET CLR 3.0.04320)
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.8.1) Gecko/20061003 Firefox/2.0
It appears that Firefox may only work when launched with administrator privileges rather than as a limited user, in Windows Vista RC1 (Build 5600; clean install onto 2GB/120GB dual core machine). Reproducible
When I download and install Firefox (1.5 or 2.0 RC2), it installs and opens the first time. Then, when I attempt to reopen, I get an error dialog box:
"The program must close to allow a previous installation attempt to complete. Please restart."
Task Manager lists firefox.exe as running. I close the error dialog box. Firefox.exe disappears as a process; xpicleanup.exe starts as a process, with no CPU utilization. This sequence can be repeated. Each time, a new xpicleanup.exe process starts. The prior instances do not stop, so the xpicleanup items keep building up in Task Manager.
Deleting xpicleanup.exe from the Firefox program folder makes no difference re: the error message. xpicleanup, however, stops loading. A complete deletion and reinstall does not change a thing (deleting user appdata and program folders). There is no xpicleanup.dat file to delete, so this is not a fix.
Launching Firefox with "run as administrator" works fine, regardless of whether or not xpicleanup is running. xpicleanup never disappears, however, from prior attempts. xpicleanup does not start after launching Firefox as administrator. Closing and restarting Firefox as a limited user after running as administrator yields the same error sequence as before.
Thunderbird works fine. IE7 works perfectly. Openoffice works fine.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install Windows Vista RC1 clean
2. Install or reinstall Firefox 1.5 or 2.0 RC2
3. Attempt to restart Firefox after install
Actual Results:
When I download and install Firefox (1.5 or 2.0 RC2), it installs and opens the first time. Then, when I attempt to reopen, I get an error dialog box:

Closing and restarting Firefox as a limited user after running as administrator yields the same error sequence as before.
Expected Results:
The program should have started normally.
Firefox works when started with "Run as Administrator" option.

i cant reproduce this on vista rc2 with
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.9a1) Gecko/20061106 Minefield/3.0a1 ID:2006110604 [cairo]
I can reproduce this with Vista RTM. I tried to install a plug in yesterday, and restarted Firefox (2.0.0.1), but it threw up this error.
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 6.0; en-US; rv:1.8.1.1) Gecko/20061204 Firefox/2.0.0.1
