not honoring "Show window contents while dragging" unchecked
On WindowsXP
Steps:-
1. Turn off "Show window contents while dragging"
-- * on WindowsXP desktop right click
-- * on context menu select "Properties" item
-- * On Display properties, select "Appearance" Tab
-- * On Appearance Tab, Click "Effects..."
-- * on Effects screen, unchecked "Show window contents while dragging"
-- * Click OK on Effects dialog...
-- * Click OK on Display properties dialog...
2. Run "MS Paint"
3. Goto "Resize" control, appears something like "//." lower right corner
4. Drag "Resize" control to resize "MS Paint"
5. "MS Paint" app drags with out altering showing content.
6. Start firefox
7. ensure status bar is visible
6. Drag "Resize" control, to repeat same on firefox using resize control
7. you see contents being moved as in "contents_ondrag.png"
PS: If status bar is hidden, you do not see "Resize" control,
hence you resize at right most corner,
and it works as expected.
