This was proposed by an anonymous coward on Slashdot recently. The request was for the ability to temporarily suspend recording private data without losing the existing history, when one is about to visit a non-worksafe site.

Yep, it's a dupe of bug #283024 and accomplished by the distrust and stealther addons.
