The Bookmarks menu closes whenever I try to open a Live Bookmark in a new tab. I have to start again to click a new link on the Live Bookmarks.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Click on the Bookmarks menu.
2. Hover on the Live Bookmarks menu. The menu opens the items in Live Bookmarks.
3. Go to one of the pages in Live Bookmarks and ctrl+click the link.

Actual Results:  
The menu closes. You have to start again to click a new link on the Live Bookmarks.

Expected Results:  
Menu should remain open so you can choose another item.

Already looking unlikely in the "leave them open sometimes, when we have menus that don't suck so much" bug, though I still hope we'll get it anyway.

This is resolved as a duplicate of a fixed bug, yet this bug does not work yet with M8.

A simple test by middle-clicking or ctrl-clicking on a live bookmark (or any bookmark for that matter) will not leave the menu open.

Should this be reopened? Bug 195031 only fixes the backend, and does not address specific issues such as this bug.

This should be expanded not just to Live Bookmarks but to bookmarks in general. Many people do not want to "Open All in Tabs"; they are just interested in specific entries. Having to go through the menu each time is cumbersome.

Bug 451915 - move Firefox/Places bugs to Firefox/Bookmarks and History. Remove all bugspam from this move by filtering for the string "places-to-b-and-h".

In Thunderbird 3.0b, you do that as follows:
Tools | Message Filters
Make sure the correct account is selected. Click "New"
Conditions: Body   contains   places-to-b-and-h
Change the action to "Delete Message".
Select "Manually Run" from the dropdown at the top.
Click OK.

Select the filter in the list, make sure "Inbox" is selected at the bottom, and click "Run Now". This should delete all the bugspam. You can then delete the filter.
