When attempting to rename qn IMAP folder to non-ascii name you see garbage ***** observed with 2000-04-13 build on French NT *****
Can this be reprodeced by US NT?
i am in the process of setting up a new us machine, so unable to reproduce it at the moment.
I am using my local build win32 on US NT4. I was able to rename "ссс" to "aaa". Marina, what string did you used for the folder name?
i am not able to rename "aaa" to "néw", i see garbage.
Okay, I can reproduce that on US NT, reassign to bienvenu.

After re-launch, the change I made was shown correctly. The garbage I saw right after the rename looked like raw UTF-7.
It looks like the problem described in bug 26877 has come back.

it is still happening in 2000-0707 M17 build, the new name containing a non-ascii chars is not recognized. For ex. you have "Folder" under your IMAP account and you want to change it to "Fôlder". You'll get an error message that the folder with this name already exists.

Could someone from I18N tell us whether we need this for beta3?
This is the same kind of problem as 40586 and 38207. So this is minus if we apply the same rule.

I think re-naming to/from non-ASCII name is now working. The remaining issue is that of refreshing the changed name but that is addressed in the 2 bugs nhotta mentioned above. I'm going to mark this as Worksforme as of Beta 2. Please verify.
