Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.7) Gecko/20060909 Firefox/1.5.0.7
My Internet Security software keeps identifying spyware associated with the following Mozilla file;
c:\program files\mozilla firefox\plugins\npsaidetect.dll
spyware is identified as - Adware.180Solutions.U
I would be very unhappy to learn that this spyware is inserted intentionally by the designers at Firefox.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Occurs the first time I visit any site after starting Firefox
2.
3.
Expected Results:
My internet security software advises of the presence of spyware at confirms that the spyware has been disabled.
I consider this to be a serious breach of my privacy, and if intentionally inserted by Mozilla, I will be very disapointed and shall post my displeasure.

That file doesn't ship with Firefox, but it could be installed on your system by other software and then used by Firefox (like any plugin).
Google has very few hits for npsaidetect.dll - you're using Prevx1 to scan for malware ? It could be a false positive.
I'm using BitDefender 9 for my internet security. Has been an excellent protector for the past twelve months.
Have attemped to delete file with Explorer and WinCommander but neither file manager will delete the file. Not Allowed.

Like Nick told this file is not part of the Firefox installation. Have a look at following page to get information how to remove the malware:
