User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-GB; rv:1.8.0.7) Gecko/20060909 Firefox/1.5.0.7 Build Identifier: thunderbird version 1.5.0.7 (20060909) lightning 0.3 If thunderbird has been open a while, and I try to add an event to my webdav calendar (accessed via https) the calendar goes offline and the event is not added. If thunderbird is restarted, everything works fine, the event can be added. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.open thunderbird 2.open a remote calendar via https 3.wait a few hours 4.try to add an event Actual Results: calendar goes offline Expected Results: event gets added The webdav server is a university box and I don't know what it is, nor whether it is set to time out etc. However the fact that adding events works fine on startup suggests that if this process fails for any reason, lightning could just try to close and re-open the webdav connection.

A very wild guess (as nobody hasn't had any idea since october 2006): the files through which the SSL-key is generated were changed in the meanwhile??? This was changed in 0.5pre, could you check to see wether the behaviour is still the same in a newer version?
In Lightning pre0.5 versions, remote calendars are reloaded regularly (by default, I think, every 30 min). This should prevent this problem, I think. Reporter, it would be nice if you could retry with a recent nightly build (or with Lightning 0.5, once it is out, if you are afraid of using nightlies).
I've been using 0.5 a while now and the bug is still there as far as I can tell. However I have stopped using lightning to organise my life so can't give you any accurate report. (Back to pen and paper for me but I look forward to 1.0 ;-)
How's this bug with 0.9pre? Please mark as WFM if the auto-reload fixes the issue.
No response from reporter. Feel free to reopen this bug report if you can still reproduce. -> Resolving as INCOMPLETE.
