User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.1) Gecko/20060601 Firefox/2.0 (Ubuntu-edgy)
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.8.1) Gecko/20060601 Firefox/2.0 (Ubuntu-edgy)
All pages with flash content now freeze. I tried deleting the .mozilla folder and it didn't help. I will try deleting the .macromedia folder and see if that helps.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Install Xubuntu 6.10 edgy
2.use plugin finder to load flash
3.visit any flash web page and it will freeze
Expected Results:
I expect it to not freeze on a flash -content page (it freezes on any and all pages with any flash content). I would also expect that I could undo what I did by uninstalling the flash plugin. I was unable to uninstall the flash plugin. Tried deleting .mozilla folder in the home directory. Will try deleting the .macromedia folder in the home directory

Load this url: about:config
Enter into the filter textarea: plugin.expose_full_path
Right click on the result and choose toogle to make it true.
Go to about:plugins - it will now show you the full path to the plugins we are loading, and should tell you where we are getting it from.
However, flash crashing is not our bug, that is adobe's issue.

I believe Edgy Eft has compositing enabled by default which would make a good case for a dupe of 304370. I'm reducing this bug to one about the flash plugin and moving to core. I'm not sure if bugs regarding the install/uninstall of plugins are valid as that should largely be the job of the OS. Joe if you want to file another bug regarding that by all means do.

Freezing (or hanging) really isn't the same thing as crashing. If you weren't crashing, then this probably isn't a dupe of bug 304370.
