Should we add ESP to Penelope?
-1 on this one. I have never understood the motivation for ESP, which I feel is a feature orthogonal to email. There are way better solutions for sharing files, like subversion or the like. No need to waste resources in this direction. Core email features should be the main focus for now. This could be forked as a separate plugin project if people feel strongly about it.
I agree with Maurits. Leave this out.
I tried it once to synchronise files at home and at work. Very clumsy. Slow. The worst bit was that it required all the files to be in one folder. Unfortunately, the files I wanted to synchronise were scattered all over the place, and needed to be there to work properly. So leave it out. Digression: I first looked at ESP as a possible way to synchronise e-mails in a mailbox on two different machines. I was disappointed to find that it only dealt with files. I still think there is a need for synchronising messages in a mailbox on different machines.
What does it do that IMAP doesn't?

I like ESP. I would like it included. I can see why developers would want to focus on the email side first and add this later.

Just added my vote. I don't want to give away my files and have them permanently stored elsewhere in the cloud. I'dont want to install an additional application à la DropBox, when Eudora can do it on the spot. ESP lets me use my normal workflow (e.g. Finder + DefaultFolderX under OS X). Most important, ESP doesn't need permanent internet access. Won't trade in Eudora Classic for Eudora OSE unless OSE has ESP in it.
Penelope didn't see any activity in the vcs for the last 8 years, closing.
