mozilla/5.0(windows;u;win98;en-gb;rv:1.8.1)gecko/20061010 firefox/2.0
npswf32.dll
shockwave flash 8.0 r22
adobe site rejects ff2.0 when trying to upgrade.
found alternative at mozilla:
http://plugindoc.mozdev.org/windows.html
installed:
shockwave flash 9.0 r28
now ff freezes, no longer requires reboot but ctrl-alt-del to close.
when 32% of flash file is said to be loaded

WFM Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.0; en-US; rv:1.8.1) Gecko/20061010 Firefox/2.0 it does grab 25MB rather quickly and lots of cpu before settling down at 10-20% cpu - if you have a smallish machine I can see where it would hang, or look like it. How much memory do you have?
You have the newest plugin so that's a good start. Suggest you install flashblock extension. After you start FF, open a few tabs before you visit the URL. Can you close any of the other tabs? Use flashblock to find which flash image it hangs up on, or if it only hangs if all start at the same time.

I just upgraded the flash player to this one :
Shockwave Flash 9.0 r45
Fox version
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Win98; en-US; rv:1.8.1.3) Gecko/20070309 Firefox/2.0.0.3
(using http://plugindoc.mozdev.org/windows.html)
and tried some flash sites. I experienced no problem so far.
