Seamonkey crashes down when changing from one profile to the other.

Expected Results:  
seamonkey goes on working with the other profile.

I´m useing 4 -5 profiles with one client; it makes it more easy for my familiy to get their emails

You might also consider upgrading to SeaMonkey 1.0 because:
a) Mozilla 1.7.x is old and
b) this bug might be fixed in recent versions.

reporter writes "WINDOWS XP SP2 with online update in an COMPAQ ARMADA M700 notebook.

Up to now I´ve been using MOZILLA 1.7.13 ...We´re using 5 user profiles in MOZILLA (menu "extras" --> change profile"; one for me, my wife, 2 children one for sportsclub-admin). With Mozilla 1.7.xx I never experienced a problem to change from one profile to the other... we can use the same adressbook.

SEAMONKEY-versions I installed in that way, that it should use the same mail-data  as MOZILLA (same directories).
--> The program runs (for my point of view) nearly identically to MOZILLA; the only problem is the topic "change profile". Each time, when I wanted to change, for example, from the profile of my wife to mine, to download my mails, the programm SEAMONKEY crashes down completely and disappears.  After restarting and choosing my profile it works, until someone wants to change a profile once more; ..."

Are you using XP fast user switching, and not shutting down seamonkey before switching?

Hello Wayne,
because of your e-mail I installed SEAMONKEY 1.0.7 completely once new.
--> change profile seems to function correctly now. !!!
(I don´t know, what´s changed; maybe, why it´s christmas).
