Previously, when I came to this screen the newest test cases were listed at the bottom of the screen. Now they seem to be sorting alphabetically, which is not optimal. This changed recently (fallout from database changes?)
No, this was a conscious change on my part that landed with the branch fixes. I had assumed it would be easier to sort the list by name, since that has been most useful for me when updating older testgroups/subgroups/testcases.

I can understand the utility of having it sorted by ID (i.e. newest at the bottom), but as you add more and more testcases, not having them sorted by name makes it harder to find things in my experience.

Really though, the tool is meant to make your life easier, and the system can sort by either. Just let me know which sorting you prefer: numerical by ID or alphabetical by name.

Also, is it helpful for you to have the IDs listed beside the testcase/subgroup/testgroup, and if so, would you prefer them displayed before (e.g. ###: Name) or after, e.g Name (###) ?

I just added some code that will allow you to sort that list of testcases (and subgroups on the testgroups page) by either name or ID as you want. It can take a few sections to sort when the list is large, but there is some JS to warn you of that as well.
