Tried today to migrate a bunch of mail from a PeeCee to a Mac. Since mail was already POPed, tried to use a separate IMAP account as an intermediate step to do this.
Discovered I could not drag a folder, much less a metafolder of folders, from the POP to IMAP Mailbox areas.
Then manually created many IMAP folders, selected [POPed] mail and dropped. Many issues with PC. Mac and Squirrelmail [used as monitor on IMAP host to see who was really where...] being wildly out of sync, and long delays after each move while it got rational again. Sometimes restarting Eudora helped.
TBird, however, does not seem to be disturbed by such a request. It shows the folder in the new place and everything else seems OK.
BUT it does appear that while dragging metafolders IMAP to IMAP is OK, dragging from IMAP to Local silently loses messages in the {sub}folders. Oops..
Goal: goof-proof dragging across locations.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Create folders and metafolders, populate
2.Drag from account to account and/or local storage
3.Observe folders and mail in different states on different machines.
Expected Results:
moved folders and metafolders without problems.
Dale will hate me, I fear....
