From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/4.7 [en] (X11; U; Linux 2.2.14 i686) BuildID: 2000041805 A closed folder containing subfolders which have unread mail does not indicate this. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. create a multi level hierarchical folder structure 2. put a message marked "unread" into a subfolder; naturally, this happens with filtering incoming messages. 3. close all folders, if they are still open Actual Results: The topmost folder provides no indication of the fact, that one if its subfolders contains unread mail Expected Results: The "unread" mail flag should propagate, if the folder containing the unread mail is not visible (because its parent folder is not open). A folder containing unread messages or subfolders that contain unread messages should be bold or should otherwise indicate that digging down the folder structure is worthwhile. This works all right in Netscape Mail on Win and Mac. It does not work in Netscape on Linux. Therefore I assume that this problem might not occur with M15 on Mac or Win, but it does on Linux.
I believe this is a duplicate of bug #19254l
