There are a number of things that you just can't do between two tabs within the
same window in FF that you can do between separate FF windows. An example of this is something I try to do quite often when composing an email with muliple links to sites I am visiting in the tabs: i.e. dragging a URL from the location bar in tab 1 and dropping it within a text area being composed in tab 2. Currently this only works if you drag to an entirely different window, not a tab.

I propose that you get this drag and drop functionality between tabs working like it does between windows. Part of the reason it doesn't work today is that when you drag something from tab 1 to tab 2 the window within tab 2 does not activate. If I drag and hoover over the 'tab' representing tab 2, tab 2's window should activate and then you should be able to proceed and drop the link wherever you want.

This would be similar to the way FF currently works if you drag something from window 1 to the taskbar icon for window 2, which causes window 2 to activate and you can continue with the drop.

Reproducible: Always
This is basically how you can drag and drop things between windows apps (when they are minimized). Would be very nice to have.
This has been implemented for Firefox 3.
