Details

User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.1) Gecko/20061204 Firefox/2.0.0.1 Build Identifier: 1.5.0.9 (20061207) Lightening 0.3 Installed Lightning for the first time. I received an invitation from Outlook. Lightning correctly identifies it and asks if I want to Add to Calender. When I click the button an entry is made in the calendar as expected. After adding the appointment, I can't view any details for it. When I right click and Edit the event, the edit screen is empty (i.e. there is no data in any of the form elements). If I close Thunderbird and relaunch it, the event is gone. It hasn't been permanently saved. Also, when I right-click a time in the calendar and choose New Task, nothing happens. Similarly when I go to File -> New -> Event (or Task) nothing happens. Invitation source follows: ========================== BEGIN:VCALENDAR PRODID:-//Microsoft Corporation//Outlook 11.0 MIMEDIR//EN VERSION:2.0 METHOD:REQUEST BEGIN:VEVENT ATTENDEE;ROLE=REQ-PARTICIPANT;RSVP=TRUE:MAILTO:colin@_emailprotected_.com ORGANIZER:MAILTO:kevin@_emailprotected_.com DTSTART:20070119T123000Z DTEND:20070119T130000Z TRANSP:OPAQUE SEQUENCE:0 UID:040000008200E00074C5B7101A82E00800000000505B052BB13BC7010000000000000000100 00000E7E7985AD0C5A64D9DBE85B72627529B DTSTAMP:20070119T100412Z DESCRIPTION:When: 19 January 2007 12:30-13:00 (GMT) Greenwich Mean Time : Dublin\, Edinburgh\, Lisbon\, London.\n\n*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*\n\n\n SUMMARY:Email - PRIORITY:5 X-MICROSOFT-CDO-IMPORTANCE:1 CLASS:PUBLIC BEGIN:VALARM TRIGGER:-PT15M ACTION:DISPLAY DESCRIPTION:Reminder END:VALARM END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Find invitation, click "Add to Calendar" 2.Find event in calendar, right click and choose Edit. No info is displayed 3.Restart Thunderbird. Event is gone. 4.Try to create a new event or task manually. No window appears. Actual Results: Nothing Expected Results: Saved the event and allowed me to create a new one. Had quite a sever "Egg Timer" moment while clicking around the calendar too. Resolved itself after a minute or so.

Summary: Cannot create new event and events not saved after closing Thunderbird → Outlook iMIP event does not get properly added to calendar
Confirmed. Thunderbird version 2 beta 2 (20070208) Lightning: 2007012205 (0.4a1) Mac OS X 10.4.8 Reproduced it on my system. Will try with latest iTIP/iMIP patch to see if that might fix the issue. So, I'm also taking this one.

This works for me using Thunderbird version 2.0.0.0pre (20070417) and Lightning 2007041704, Windows XP

This also works for me with Outlook 2007 Lightning 0.7pre 2007-07-27 04 TB 2.0.0.5 However: 1) For whatever dumb reason, Outlook 2007 adds a bunch of extra information to the Description field of its iMIP requests: <When> + <Timezone> + <Where> + <Description>. Since Outlook is such a dominant client in the world, please consider fixing their nonsense so that we see only the description in the Description field in our Lightning calendars. 2) When I accept the invite and send the iMIP response back to Outlook 2007, it doesn't recognize it (perhaps because of the same reasons as bug 377761).
(In reply to comment #3) Colin, does it also works for you when using a Lightning 0.7pre nightly build? Pete, I'd recommend to file a new enhancement bug for each of your requests but please search for existing bugs first. This bug is not the appropriate location for it.
Currently seems to be working well with Thunderbird 2.0.0.6 and Lightening 0.5. Thanks for your efforts!
