Searching for "aa-lib gallery" in the tagsoup html example fails. It succeeds on the xhtml strict version. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Open the tagsoup html attachment 2 [review]. Look for "aa-lib gall" Actual Results: The text is not found Expected Results: The find should succeed and the text highlighted. Try the following: 1) After the search fails, tab to the galleries url and press F3 - the search will succeed. 2) a) Add another entry: "aa-lib galleries" below the "gallery" one. b) search for "aa-lib galler" - the second one will be found. F3 will have no effect, but shift+F3 will select the previous link correctly. c) more shift+f3 searches will wrap correctly to the bottom of the page, while f3 won't wrap at all.
Confirmed with Firefox trunk on Mac. Weird! I wouldn't call your testcase "tag soup". That term is normally reserved for pages with misnested tags, block-in-inline, and other nonsense. The most similar bug report I can find is bug 336279.

Yeah, this is the same as bug 336279, I'm going to attach a patch there that fixes that bug (and also this bug).
