User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-GB; rv:1.8.1.1) Gecko/20061204 Firefox/2.0.0.1
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9a1) Gecko/20061006 Sunbird/0.3
I exported a shared public calender from Google Calendar in iCal format. Then in Mozilla Sunbird 0.3 I imported the calendar. I get this error message every time.
Error getting calendar
3 items failed to import. The last error was: 2147500037
There was only 3 items in the calendar so it failed to import all the items.
I do not have any extensions installed in Sunbird and I have the latest version of Java installed. I have tried this on several other PC's also and I get the same problem. It just seems to have a problem import Google iCal calendars.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.Export a shared public calendar from Google Calendar in the iCal format
2.In Sunbird: File > Import
3.Browse to the iCal file
4.Choose a calendar in Sunbird to import the iCal file to
5.Then you get an error message saying it failed to import x number of items.
Actual Results:
It failed to import any of the calendar items
Expected Results:
It should import all the calendar items into the calendar I chose

Could you send me the iCal file you exported from google or post the ical
information here?
This may be a dupe of bug 365812.

This error is commonly thrown when you already have these events in your application (can be another calendar). So my guess is, that you are subscribed to the Google calendar and now you tried to import the same events into another (or the same) calendar. Is this correct?
If my guess is right, then problem is known and being worked on. (bug 325641)
Ah, Sebastian, it appears you were right. I feel like such a fool now, I spend ages reading the other bugs to ensure I wasn't submitting a duplicate.
I didn't actually know you could subscribe to a Google Calendar. I had been manually inputting my data into both of them.
Thanks for your help.

There are no problems with duplicates - at least if they are not very obvious.
And it just shows that we need a better error message here. It is meaningless to the user.
