User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9a1) Gecko/20061218 Minefield/3.0a1
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9a1) Gecko/20061218 Minefield/3.0a1
Short of it: Frame Info does not ever show "Security Tab", even when clicking on a secure page.
More details: We have a 3rd party app "A" which opens another 3rd party app "B" in a frame. B is encrypted and secure, A sometimes isn't. No padlock is shown on the frameset due to mixed security, which freaks our users out, since B (and only B) shows confidential information.
To appease them, we show them the cert on B is really there. But we can't do that with Firefox 2.0 or this build of 3.0a1:
the Security tab is not displayed. The workaround is to "Show this frame in new window" and selecting "Page Info", where it shows up.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. open up a frameset with at least one encrypted frame (https)
2. right-click on https frame and select "This Frame-> View Frame Info"
3. notice lack of Security tab
Actual Results:
I noticed that there wasn't a security tab. Users see that and say "A-HA! I told you it wasn't secure" - despite the https part in the location field.
Expected Results:
I would expect to see a security tab if a frame is encrypted.
Workaround is to click on "This Frame-> Show Only This Frame" and click on Page Info to see the security information.
