User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.1) Gecko/20061204 Firefox/2.0.0.1 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.1) Gecko/20061204 Firefox/2.0.0.1 In past versions of Firefox, hypertext links would open a brand new webpage and take the user to the linked website. Now, it opens the website in a new tab within the popup. This makes it very difficult to view the website. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Go to http://www.copywriter.dreamhost.com/portfolio.htm 2. click on the 2nd thumbnail to open popup 3. Then click on any of the three bottom hypertext links (The Tides, Windermere or Everest) 4. You will be taken to the linked website, but instead of viewing it in a brand new webpage, you will open a new tab within the popup. Actual Results: You're taken to the linked website, but does not open brand new webpage. You end up trying to view a standard website within the confines of a popup window. Expected Results: Previous versions of Firefox and IE should take visitor to linked website, but (most importantly) by opening a brand new webpage. While this appears to be a Mozilla bug (the site worked 100% in older versions of Firefox and still does in IE), I'd be happy to change the code on my website (the site listed above) if there's a temporary fix. Thank you in advance for any suggestions?
That's probably because you are set to open new pages in new tabs. Tools > Options > Tabs > New pages should be opened in... a new window. If "new window" is already selected then first select "new tab" and then "new window".
Ria, thanks, that was it. The tab settings from my previous version of Firefox didn't carry over when I updated. (In reply to comment #1) > That's probably because .... >
