New RSS feed subscription doesn't show folder as having unread items

When adding a new feed a folder in the RSS feeds account is added. The articles within the folder are in the unread state but the folder text isn't bold to indicate new messages.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Find an RSS feed
2. Subscribe to it in thunderbird
Actual Results:
The folder is added to the navigation pane but doesn't visually show new/unread messages
Expected Results:
Folder is added and shows new messages, how many, etc
Using the default Thunderbird 2.0 theme, all addons disabled
