Details

(Not sure this is the right component.) Frank has mentioned a few times the intention to register a trademark for the Camino logo (the name is already a registered trademark). I was working on some licensing docs for us and hadn't seen any further progress beyond those mentions so I thought I'd file a bug on the matter.
I think this is worth looking into. I think the very first step should be clarifying the copyright status of the logo, and confirming that the Foundation has the necessary rights to file for the logo as a trademark. Who created the logo? Did the creator assign copyright on the logo to the Foundation?
Jasper Hauser created the logo. I've CCed him to clarify his intentions and will also email him privately. I'm fairly sure we talked previously (Jasper and I) and he was alright with assigning the copyright to the Foundation.
Reassigning to Frank. Gerv

Frank has the copyright documents in hand. This logo is now a copyright of the Mozilla Foundation and can be trademarked appropriately.
The US trademark application for the Camino logo was submitted July 9, 2007. For more information see http://tarr.uspto.gov/servlet/tarr?regser=serial&entry=77224871

Am I reading the status correctly, that the logo was registered earlier this month (that is, do those words mean what a layman thinks they mean ;) )?
This has been registered. Registration Number 3408425 Registration Date April 8, 2008
