User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X; en; rv:1.8.1.2pre) Gecko/20070215 Camino/1.1a2+
Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; Intel Mac OS X; en; rv:1.8.1.2pre) Gecko/20070215 Camino/1.1a2+
Once I login to my bank account using Camino 1.1a2 nightly 20070215 the site becomes unusable. There is no styling and my bank account information is not shown. This did not happen with Camino 1.0.
I'm using Camino on Intel and CamiTools (to send the Firefox 1.5 user agent).
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Go to http://www.citibank.com/
2. Under "sign on", choose "Bank Accounts"
3. Enter your username and password, and press "sign on"
4. After a brief loading screen, the rendering problem occurs
Actual Results:
Unusable Citibank banking screen
Expected Results:
Usable Citbank banking screen, as seen under Camino 1.0

You are probably:
a) blocking the server they serve that from using the server-blocking in CamiTools, or
b) denying cookies (I've seen sites that don't serve style to clients that reject cookies).
If you try with a fresh profile, is it fixed? If so it's almost guaranteed to be one of the above.

Hi, Stuart.
I need CamiTools installed to spoof Firefox or I hit bug 329198. But I did just now blow away my profile, drag in the CamiTools pref pane (setting it to Firefox 1.5), and try Camino 1.0.3. I then repeated the process with Camino 1.1a2.
With 1.0.3, the site rendered as expected. With 1.1a2, it did not (I got the screen in the attachment).

Looks like the problem is CamiTools. I removed it, set the Firefox user agent in user.js, and now the page renders fine with Camino 1.1a2.
I wouldn't have expected CT to break page rendering, but it sure seems to! Ah, well. :-(

If the only thing you need is the spoofing, you might want to check out:
http://pimpmycamino.com/parts/user-agent
which provides a pref pane that's a front-end to the user agent override, without all the other stuff.
Closing INVALID since it's a CamiTools issue.

Spoofing the user-agent on a permanent basis (in user.js) is a very bad idea. User Agent is a good alternative because it allows you to switch the UA for sites where you "need"* it and then switching back to Camino when you're done.
* Sites that work with Camino only when spoofing as Firefox need to be filed as Tech Evangelism bugs (and the sites need to be contacted; see http://geckoisgecko.org).

This actually was/is a bug, and we're fixing it in bug 371860. Unfortunately, this bug wasn't properly diagnosed initially because the reporter was using a third-party extension. In the future, please test and file bugs with a "virgin" copy of the application (minimal pref changes, no extensions, etc.)
