User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.10) Gecko/20070216 Firefox/1.5.0.10 Build Identifier: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.0.10) Gecko/20070216 Firefox/1.5.0.10 I have a div (#1) with an overflow attribute. I create another div (#2) that contains form text input fields and it partially overlaps the div #1. The text input fields that overlap with div #1 don't draw their input cursors when keyboard focus goes to the input field. I can supply a code example if needed. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. 2. 3.

I can supply a code example if needed. That's always a good idea. The easier a bug is to reproduce, the more likely it is to get attention.

This is a testcase that shows the problem. I've been wondering what this bug was all about, and i just found out what the cause was. It seems that when an input box (or textarea) is placed over an element with an auto or scroll overflow, the cursor will disappear exactly on the area the element is at.

If that's the problem, that would make this bug WORKSFORME, because it works just fine on trunk.

The bug still exists on Firefox 2.0.0.4 / WinXP Please reopen the bug.

(In reply to comment #6) > The bug still exists on Firefox 2.0.0.4 / WinXP > Please reopen the bug. 1. The status resolution reflects current development builds, not Fx 2.0. 2. This bug isn't closed; see https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/page.cgi?id=fields.html#status.
Can somebody confirm or close this bug? I can reproduce this bug by attached testcase with Firefox 2.0.0.7 (windows, linux, mac) and with SeaMonkey 1.1.4 (windows, linux, mac). I cannot reproduce this bug in Firefox 3 alfa 8 (windows, linux, mac) - It seams this is already fixed (tested with attached testcase).

> Can somebody confirm or close this bug? The testcase in attachment 266900 [details] works as expected (windows, mac, didn't test linux) in Firefox 2.0.0.7 and on trunk, so this is WFM.(In reply to comment #8)

This still isn't working for me (Firefox 2.0.0.11). I see the cursor in the text field if the cursor isn't over the div with overflow, but if I click in the area over the div with overflow then the cursor disappears (or if I use the arrows to move the cursor over the div with overflow).

I tested 2.0.0.11 on XP and Mac OSX 10.4 and I still see the issue. Can this one be re-opened?

(In reply to comment #11) > Can this one be re-opened? This bug is fixed in Firefox 3, not in Firefox 2.

Does that mean this won't be fixed in Firefox 2?
